The Big M of Marketing

See full size imageThe perception of what a Marketing team does is incredibly varied and misunderstood. More often than not blog posts and articles I read refer to ÒmarketingÓ in terms of promotional programs. They discuss things like lead generation, how to use Twitter, improving landing page conversion, and the colors and fonts in the brochure. All important stuff, but this is the little ÒmÓ of marketing.

The big ÒMÓ of Marketing is about markets, buyers and finding market problems that need to be solved. ItÕs strategic and thoughtful. It makes your head hurt and itÕs hard work.

Product launch is a big ÒMÓ of Marketing activity.
