Certifications

No, to ensure the integrity of the exam, we require proctoring.

We highly recommend the use of a Wi-Fi capable laptop or tablet for the assessment as the user experience on the phone is not ideal.

You will need a Wi-Fi capable laptop or tablet to participate in the assessment.

For product courses, a certification exam is administered in a proctored, multiple-choice, time-constrained format. A Wi-Fi capable laptop or tablet is required to participate in the assessment and you will receive your results immediately.

For most data courses, your instructor will provide you details for an assessment project during your course. For Data Science for Business Leaders, you will take a certification exam.

For design courses, a certification exam is administered for the Business Strategy & Design course, and a project will be given for the Influence Through Storytelling course.

After you pass your certification exam, you’ll receive an email from Credly with your new badge, usually within two weeks.

You can follow the instructions in the email to accept your badge, and you can access the information here

If you are having trouble with your Credly account, have not received your email or have questions, please contact [email protected].

After you pass your course, you’ll receive an email from Credly, our certification badges platform. From that email, you’ll be able to accept your badge and share it on LinkedIn.

From the Share Badge page, click on the LinkedIn icon and connect your LinkedIn account.

A screen will appear giving you information on your certification badge for LinkedIn. You can check or uncheck the “Add to my Profile” and “Share to my newsfeed” boxes.

To add your badge to your LinkedIn profile, click the “Share to LinkedIn” button in the lower right corner. This will open a blank LinkedIn form in another tab. Go back to the Credly tab and click the “Copy” button next to certification name. Then go back to the LinkedIn page and paste the information into the “Certification Name” field.

Repeat this process for the information on the Credly page until all the relevant information has been added. There is no expiration date. Click “Save” when you’ve finished.

Now under “Licenses & Certifications” on your LinkedIn page, you’ll be able to see your Pragmatic certification badges. For more information, visit Credly’s website.

Please reach out to the registrar at [email protected] for help merging or updating your accounts.

It can take up to 2 weeks after you complete your training to receive your badge email.

If it’s been more than 2 weeks since you took your training, please send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll gladly take a look.

If you have questions about certification tests, or if you haven’t received a certification you believe you should have, please contact us at [email protected].

We are currently only automatically issuing badges that were earned in 2015 or later. If you earned your badges before 2015, please email the registrar to request your certification badges.

If you have questions about Credly, such as login questions, please click here, or email them here.

You’ll earn a badge when you complete a course, and another when you pass the certification test or project.

These new digital badges are just like our old badges—only better.

Credly is the platform that we use to distribute our certification badges. By using this platform, you’re able to share your skills and certifications with the world, quickly and easily.

With Credly, you can pin your digital certification badges to your email signatures, digital resumes, social media sites and more.

Employers can use the Credly site to find people with the certifications and skill sets they need.

No, only the individual who attended the training and passed the exam can use the certification. However, if the individual is named in company marketing material, use of the certification and logo is permitted for that individual’s biography or professional profile.

If you did not receive the email at the same time your colleagues received theirs, oftentimes it means Pragmatic Institute does not have your valid email address on file. Please send an email to [email protected] to verify your email address. Once verified, you should receive your score via email in 24 hours.

There is a $25 fee that is nonrefundable and nontransferable for retaking the exam. To retake your exam, please contact our registrar at [email protected] or at 480.515.1411. The registrar will schedule a time slot for testing, and send a calendar invite to you. The testing link will be included in the invite.

When your testing time arrives, a proctor will open the test, and you will use the link in the invite to take the test.

Please note that if you fail the certification exam three times, you will be required to attend the course again before being allowed to retake the exam.

You may sit for the exam of any course you’ve attended during the exam period of any one of our public training courses during one of our defined testing periods each week. There is a fee of $25 for each certification. Please contact our registrar to reserve your exam seat.

Congratulations!

Our digital certification badges from Credly allow you to share your achievement on your Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, as well as your digital resumes, email signatures, websites and pretty much anywhere else. Check your email for your Credly certification email and follow the instructions on how to share your new badges with the world.

Foundations is a prerequisite for Focus, Design, Build, Market, Launch, Price and Insight and those courses were developed to build on the concepts covered in Foundations. If you don’t understand these core concepts, you won’t gain the full benefit of our other courses.

We recommend starting with Foundations. Which courses you take with Foundations depends on your individual area of responsibility, the deliverables you are accountable for and the challenges you face. Click here for help determining which courses are right for you.

Excellent question, click here for a handy-dandy tool that helps you translate the previous courses into the new curriculum.

Foundations is designed to cover many of the core principles of Pragmatic Institute that were previously taught in Practical Product Management, but in a way that is not focused on a specific job title. Therefore, if you’ve previously attended Practical Product Management, much of what you’ll see will be familiar. However, clients regularly tell us that they benefit from multiple viewings of the content. Also, if it’s been a while, a refresher might be helpful since Foundations serves as a prerequisite for all other courses and its concepts are built upon in these courses.

The second will arrive the day before your course.

These emails will provide you with all the information you need to sign into your Zoom classroom.

We’ve included a number of frequently asked questions about the topics we cover within the lessons themselves, as well as in the notes.

There’s also a chat forum for each course, where you can ask questions about the material to other students who are also taking the on-demand course. And you can help answer the questions of your fellow students.

You can also join us on Fridays at 1:30 PM ET for our office hours, where one of our instructors will be live online to answer your questions and provide advice. You can add the office hours to your calendar here

If you have technical questions about your on-demand course, we recommend you reach out to the registrar at (480) 515-1411 or [email protected] and they’ll be able to provide the assistance you need.

No. The course is a single user license and may not be distributed or shared with others. Doing so violates U.S. and international copyright laws and invalidates your certification.

When it comes to what you learn, nothing. We’ve worked hard to provide you with the same great learning, regardless of delivery format.

Depending on how you learn, you might find that one format works better for you than the others. Here are some of the pros and cons of each option:

In-Person Courses:

  • Pro: A live instructor guides you through the course and is available to answer questions
  • Pro: Lots of networking opportunities during group projects and during the breaks
  • Con: Our in-person courses last an entire day, which means you have to plan to be out of the office for a full day per course you register for
  • Con: If we don’t have any in-person training events in your area, you may have to travel to another city or state to get the training.

 Live Online Courses:

  • Pro: A live instructor guides you through the courses and is available to answer questions
  • Pro: No traveling involved as classes are solely online
  • Pro: Each course is separated over multiple days so you can more easily fit the course into your busy work schedule
  • Con: Networking opportunities limited to breakout groups during exercises
  • Con: Scheduled times for classes can be difficult for those outside the continental United States and Canada

On-Demand Courses

  • Pro: No travel involved as the class is solely online
  • Pro: Self-pacing allows you to learn on your schedule, which is ideal for busy professionals and those in areas outside the U.S.
  • Pro: As you have access to the course for 12 months from date of purchase, you can refer back to the information in the course whenever you want during that time frame
  • Con: No live instructor to guide you through the course and answer questions in real time
  • Con: Limited networking opportunities with other students
  • Con: Learning is entirely self-motivated, which can be difficult for some students

We designed our on-demand courses to be as intuitive and informative as possible. These courses cover the same concepts, tools and techniques that we do in our popular public and live online courses, with the added benefit of being able to learn at your own pace.

We utilize the latest tools and technology to create an interactive learning experience just as impressive as our public and live online options.

Each course is broken into a series of modules, and each module is made up of videos, interactive exercises, templates and assessments.

In the on-demand course, you’ll also have access to helpful resources so you can make the most of what you’re learning. There’s also a chat section, where you can interact with other students who are taking the same on-demand course as you. There, you can ask questions of your classmates and provide answers and insights from your own experience.

For Foundations On-Demand, when you complete the final module, you’ll be granted access to the certification exam. This is an open-note exam, so you can use your notes to answer the questions.

If you score a 70% or higher on the certification exam, you’ll officially earn the certification badge. Learn more about our coveted certification badges and how they can help your career here.

You set your own pace with our on-demand courses. And you’ll have access to everything in it for a full year, starting on your purchase date. That means you can revisit the videos, the templates and the exercises over and over again once you finish.

There’s a lot of great information in our on-demand course, so you don’t want to rush through it!

Typically, our on-demand courses take about as much time as our in-person or live online courses do, so about 6 hours.

Depending on how quickly you move through the modules, lessons, activities, assessments and assignments, it could take more or less time to complete.

Make sure you give yourself ample time for each module, including the exercises and assessments, and for the certification exam at the end.

After you purchase your on-demand course, you’ll receive an email with your login information.

Click the link provided in that email to access your on-demand course, then use the login information provided to begin learning.

We recommend bookmarking the course page so you can easily access it whenever you want.

You’ll have access to any Pragmatic course for 12 months, starting from when you purchase the course.

Each module and lesson builds on the next, which is why we recommend that you complete them in order.

At the end of each module, you’ll be given a short assessment to help you see what information you should review before moving on.

To get the most out of this course, you’ll need:

  • Reliable internet access
  • Laptop, desktop or tablet
  • The ability to play videos
  • The latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Flipick or Safari

If you have any technical issues with your course, please contact the registrar at 480-515-1411 or email us at [email protected].

Pragmatic Alumni Community

Not right now, but we’ve got some exciting plans in store for our design alumni. Make sure you’re receiving our emails and follow our social media for more details.

On June 30, 2021, the Alumni Resource Center (ARC) closed its doors for good.

Now, Pragmatic alumni can access the Pragmatic Alumni Community (PAC), a robust, award-winning space where you can connect with other alumni, industry legends, instructors and more.

The PAC now houses all of the resources, tools and templates that were located in the ARC, and provides a wealth of additional information to help you continue your learning journey and find the help you need to successfully implement your training.

For many years, the Alumni Resource Center (ARC) has provided Pragmatic alumni with a space where they can easily access tools and templates from the courses they’ve taken, as well as additional resources.

In 2020, Pragmatic launched the Pragmatic Alumni Community (PAC) to enhance the alumni experience and take the concepts of the ARC to the next level.

In the PAC, alumni are not only able to access course tools and templates, but connect with other alumni, industry leaders and Pragmatic instructors to share ideas, feedback, tips, tricks and more to ensure successful implementation of Pragmatic training.

The PAC also offers exclusive events and resources to alumni, including master classes in exciting topics and user-generated templates. And it’s included in your course fees.

On June 30, 2021, the ARC closed for good and the PAC will be the place for alumni to continue their learning.

As an alumni, you have lifetime access to the PAC.

When you register for your first course, you’ll automatically be registered for your community account. Keep a look out for a separate email with instructions on how to claim your community account.

If you’re an alumni and you haven’t received this promo code in your email, please contact our community team for assistance.

Not at this time, but we’re working on something special for our data alumni as well! Follow our social media for updates.

No. At this time, the PAC is only for Pragmatic Institute product alumni.

Full refunds (minus a $25 registration fee) will be provided to customers who cancel 8 calendar days or more prior to the course date. Customers cancelling or transferring to another course between 1 to 7 calendar days prior to the course date will not be eligible for a refund. These customers will, however, be given an opportunity to attend another course within 12 months of the original course date for a rescheduling fee of $150 per course. Customers who fail to attend without providing notice will be charged the total fee of all course days for which they have registered. Substitutes are permitted. A substitute is defined as one individual attending the entire duration of the consecutive course days in lieu of the original customer.

Please contact the registrar at [email protected] or call us at +1.480.515.1411 for assistance.

You might want to consider our live, online courses instead. You get the same great information, tools and templates from the same great instructors, along with the flexibility of attending the courses remotely. And you can take any of our courses in any order that makes sense for you and your schedule.

For our in-person public courses, we recommend you bring an open mind, a willingness to learn, all of your topic-related questions and a WiFi capable laptop or tablet.

For all courses, make sure you have a fully charged laptop or computer for the entire course.

No preparation is needed prior to attending the courses. Just come ready to learn.

Our live online courses vary in start and end time. Refer to your registration email or the course registration page for more details.

Seats cannot be reserved. We encourage early registration as our courses frequently sell out.

Yes, we waitlist attendees for sold-out courses. Please contact our registrar or call 480.515.1411.

We recommend registering as soon as possible; our courses fill up quickly. We can accommodate last-minute registrations, if space is available, but recommend you wait for your confirmation email before making arrangements in case a course has sold out.

Selecting a Data Course

We’ve created a sponsorship letter template that you can use to convince your boss to send you to Pragmatic training. This letter provides clear information on how training with Pragmatic will not only improve your skills, but also benefit the company at large. Just download this template, copy and paste the text into your email, update and adjust the information as needed, and hit send. Find the template here.

Services & Offerings

Absolutely. We firmly believe in delivering actionable training, which includes providing the tools and templates you need to implement what you learn. Product alumni are able to access all of these tools in the Pragmatic Alumni Community (PAC).

Pragmatic Institute’s training is designed to offer you the tools and techniques you need to go back to the office and start making an impact immediately. But, we also offer post-training coaching services for companies looking for help during the implementation process.

Check out Pragmatic Labs, our facilitator-led hands-on workshops that teach your team repeatable skills and turn what they learned in class into action.

The Pragmatic Alumni Community also provides a wealth of resources, connections and events for your team to give them a competitive advantage post-training.

The Data Incubator

The Data Incubator is the leading provider of data science training and education. TDI was founded by Michael Li, a leading data science expert with an impressive pedigree (at 17, he was the youngest person to ever build a fusor desktop nuclear fusion reactor; he has a minor planet named after him; and he has performed with the Oregon Symphony).

As part of Pragmatic Institute, The Data Incubator focuses on a fellowship program to train recent graduates to give them real world experience in data science, as well as placement services, online education and more. Learn more about The Data Incubator.
