If you did not receive the email at the same time your colleagues received theirs, oftentimes it means Pragmatic Institute does not have your valid email address on file. Please send an email to email@example.com to verify your email address. Once verified, you should receive your score via email in 24 hours.
Sorry, you must attend the current course in order to sit for the certification exam.

When it comes to what you learn, nothing. We’ve worked hard to provide you with the same great learning, regardless of delivery format.
Depending on how you learn, you might find that one format works better for you than the others. Here are some of the pros and cons of each option:
Live Online Courses:
We designed our on-demand courses to be as intuitive and informative as possible. These courses cover the same concepts, tools and techniques that we do in our popular public and live online courses, with the added benefit of being able to learn at your own pace.
We utilize the latest tools and technology to create an interactive learning experience just as impressive as our public and live online options.
Each course is broken into a series of modules, and each module is made up of videos, interactive exercises, templates and assessments.
In the on-demand course, you’ll also have access to helpful resources so you can make the most of what you’re learning. There’s also a chat section, where you can interact with other students who are taking the same on-demand course as you. There, you can ask questions of your classmates and provide answers and insights from your own experience.
When you complete the final module, you’ll be granted access to the certification exam. This is a 20-question, open-note exam, so you can use your notes to answer the questions.
If you score a 70% or higher on the certification exam, you’ll officially earn the certification badge for your course. Learn more about our coveted certification badges and how they can help your career here.
You set your own pace with this course. And you’ll have access to everything in it for a full year, starting on your purchase date. That means you can revisit the videos, the templates and the exercises over and over again once you finish.
There’s a lot of great information in our on-demand course, so you don’t want to rush through it!
Typically, our on-demand courses take about as much time as our in-person or live online courses do, so about 6 hours.
Depending on how quickly you move through the modules, lessons, activities, assessments and assignments, it could take more or less time to complete.
Make sure you give yourself ample time for each module, including the exercises and assessments, and for the certification exam at the end.

Our public events were organized to deliver the most common and popular combinations of our courses in the most locations each year. Unfortunately, that means we don’t offer all combinations in a public setting.
You might want to consider our live, online courses instead. You get the same great information, tools and templates from the same great instructors, along with the flexibility of attending the courses remotely. And you can take any of our courses in any order that makes sense for you and your schedule.
For our in-person public courses, we recommend you bring an open mind, a willingness to learn, all of your product-related questions and a WiFi capable laptop or tablet if you plan on taking the certification exam.
For data courses, make sure you have a fully charged laptop or computer for the entire course.
No preparation is needed prior to attending the courses. Just come ready to learn.
For our in-person public courses, registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Courses start at 9:00 a.m. each day and end at 4:30 p.m.
Our live online courses vary in start and end time. Refer to your registration email or the course registration page for more details.
Seats cannot be reserved. We encourage early registration as our courses frequently sell out.
Yes, we wait-list attendees for sold-out courses. Please contact our registrar or call 480.515.1411.
We recommend registering as soon as possible; our courses fill up quickly. We can accommodate last-minute registrations, if seats are available, but recommend you wait for your confirmation email before making travel arrangements in case a course has sold out.

If you’re new to Python, or could use a refresher, we recommend taking Intro to Python. This course is designed to show you the many capabilities of Python and its related tools. It is not a certification course, but will help you begin to understand the importance of Python before attending our other courses.
Our data courses do increase in difficulty, so we do recommend that you take them in order if you plan on taking any combination of courses.
Depending on your role and goals, you might find that some of our data courses may be too advanced for your needs, or focus on skills you don’t need for your job. That’s okay!
Take the courses you need, when you need them and when you’re ready for them. To see where your skills are now, take our assessment.
If you’re data-savvy and can code along with your team, we highly encourage you to take training along with your data team.
If not, but you’d like to learn more about data science and business, check out The Business of Data Science.
Not necessarily. If you’re already a Python master and can perform all of the tasks and tools listed in the course description, the course may not be as advanced as you need.

Foundations is a prerequisite for Focus, Build, Market, Launch and Price, and those courses were developed to build on the concepts covered in Foundations. If you don’t understand these core concepts, you won’t gain the full benefit for our other courses. It is not currently required for The Business of Data Science.
Most everybody starts by attending Foundations. Which courses you should take with Foundations depends on your individual area of responsibility, the deliverables you are accountable for and the challenges you face. Click here for help determining which courses are right for you.
In 2013, Pragmatic Institute went through a reorganization of our curriculum to help make it easier for people to find and attend the courses that would be the most relevant and helpful to them. This change included renaming the courses themselves. To find the courses that best correlate to the ones you’re looking for, click here. To find out more about why we changed our curriculum, click here.
Foundations is designed to cover many of the core principles of Pragmatic Institute that were previously taught in Practical Product Management, but in a way that is not focused on a specific job title. Therefore, if you’ve previously attended Practical Product Management, much of what you’ll see will be familiar. However, clients regularly tell us that they benefit from multiple viewings of the content. Also, if it’s been a while, a refresher might be helpful since Foundations serves as a prerequisite for all other courses and its concepts are built upon in these courses.
Our courses focus on the need to truly understand the market and the problems it faces in order to create products people want to buy. These products can be any combination of hardware, software and services, because it is not about the technology you use, but the problems you solve.
It is strongly recommended. When you attend with your staff, you’re showing support for this market-driven methodology, which will help build a stronger team.
