My good friend Josh Strebel at Flare9.com forwarded to me a great blog post on linkbaiting from Stuntdubl.com. From the post… “Linkbaiting is all about the bait. In the same way that you can’t catch a giant tuna with a bag of doritos - you’re not going to get the attention of important bloggers, journalists, or other folks with some garbage content or news. “ Well said. Linkbaiting is all about getting more links to your blog from other bloggers. The term was originally coined by Nick Wilson in his post “The Art of Linkbaiting“. Launch Clinic’s view: Product Launch planners looking for ways to increase the Authority and Trust of their site should consider the methods described by Nick Wilson and Stuntdubl. Great stuff. An alternative view: Adam over at LaundSquad has an interesting perspective on linkbaiting/searchbaiting. It’s worth a read and has links to other great sources.
